‘Mind the Gap! Supporting international Masters student transition’

Abstract:  Many international students face academic and social transition challenges of a UK education. Master’s students, in particular, have very little time to adapt to the ‘academic shock’ of teaching and learning approaches, relationships between teachers and students and forms of assessment. This talk provides a ‘Toolkit’ approach to designing support pathways for international students in the biosciences, and discusses a transformative Masters programme curriculum being initiated at Bath to address these issues.
